Work Schedule & Provisions
Full-time, up to 40-hour work week
Hours typically between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Infant & Toddler Teacher
Preschool Teacher

ROLE OVERVIEW
Wilcox Academy is seeking a dedicated Infant & Toddler Teacher to provide nurturing, developmentally appropriate care and instruction for children ages 8 weeks to 36 months. This role supports early learning through intentional interactions, structured curriculum implementation, and responsive caregiving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide care, supervision, and classroom management for infants and toddlers in alignment with WAEL curriculum goals
Conduct focused observations and develop individualized action plans to support child development
Plan, implement, and evaluate daily learning activities
Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of all children at all times
Maintain consistent communication with parents and families
Support overall center operations and collaborate with team members
Ensure compliance with all state and local licensing and regulatory requirements
Promote the Wilcox Academy mission and Love. Learn. Lead. philosophy in daily practice
Implement developmentally appropriate practices and best teaching methods
Engage children in meaningful play and learning experiences that support development
Assist with daily care routines including feeding, diapering, and hygiene practices
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
Sanitize classroom materials and follow established cleaning procedures
Maintain professionalism and uphold organizational values at all times
Participate in supervision and coaching for ongoing professional growth
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
Enrollment in a Child Development Associate (CDA) program with completion required within 6 months of hire; OR
Current enrollment in a CDA program with at least 6 months of infant/toddler teaching experience; OR
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with at least 6 months of infant/toddler teaching experience; OR
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with at least 6 months of experience; OR
Bachelor’s degree in a related human services field (e.g., psychology, special education, social work, music) with coursework in child development and at least 6 months experience; OR
Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with at least 6 months of experience
EXPECTATIONS
Strong professional, warm, and supportive disposition toward children and families
Reliable, punctual, and flexible in assignment needs
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Physical ability to engage in active classroom work (standing, bending, kneeling, floor play, etc.)
Willingness to accept supervision and coaching for continuous improvement
COMPENSATION
Starting Pay: $16.01 - $17.50 per hour
With CDA or higher: $18.01+ per hour -
ROLE OVERVIEW
Wilcox Academy is seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher to support the care, supervision, and early education of children ages 3 to 5 years. This role focuses on preparing children for kindergarten readiness through intentional instruction, structured play, and developmentally appropriate practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
