Leaders Tour Wilcox Academy’s New Campus

Wilcox Academy of Early Learning recently welcomed local and state leaders for hard hat tours of our new Central City campus, offering a firsthand look at the progress of this transformative project.

Councilmember Matthew Willard visited the site to see the development taking shape, which will include a new 4-star early learning center alongside four affordable housing units. This investment reflects a shared commitment to strengthening families and expanding access to high-quality early education in Central City.

We were also honored to welcome Senator Royce Duplessis, who has supported this vision from its earliest stages. From what once began as an empty lot, this project is now becoming a reality—thanks in part to leaders who recognize the long-term impact of investing in early childhood education.

Throughout both visits, one message remained clear: early learning is foundational. It is an investment in education, workforce development, and the economic future of our communities.

We are deeply grateful for the continued support of leaders who believe in this work and walk alongside us as we bring this vision to life. The future is being built right here in Central City, and we look forward to the day we open our doors to serve even more children and families.
