2023 Early Childhood Leader of the Year Award
Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) announcement recognizing Rochelle Wilcox, Executive Director of Wilcox Academy, as the 2023 Early Childhood Leader of the Year.
Dream Teachers and the Louisiana Department of Education hosted the 16th Annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Awards Gala on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the World War II Museum, recognizing top leaders across the state in the Early Childhood Teacher and Leader of the Year, New Teacher of the Year, and the Principal and Teacher of the Year programs. Each division had multiple finalists, but one individual received the highest honor in each category.
We are so excited that the world will now see what students, parents, and staff experience every day at Wilcox Academy of Early Learning… (drumroll)…
The 2023 Early Childhood Leader of the Year is Rochelle Wilcox.

Last, but not least, I want to thank the people that are in the trenches with me every day, my Wilcox Academy team, the best early learning team anyone could ask for: my directors, teachers, staff, and the parents who trust us with the littlest people to Love, Learn, and Lead them.
I am so honored and humbled to have received the Early Childhood Leader of the Year Award on behalf of all early learning leaders in our state. I stand on their shoulders, and together we will continue to reach higher for our youngest learners. I would also like to offer a special thank you to the Louisiana Department of Education for leading the way and recognizing us.”
