The WilReachOne Foundation, an initiative of Wilcox Academy, is committed to transforming the lives of children, families, and educators in Central City, New Orleans. Through high-quality early childhood education, family support, and community-focused programs and resources, we work to create a safe, nurturing environment where everyone can thrive.

ADDRESSING GAPS IN EARLY LEARNING & SUPPORT
The Need
Central City has faced significant challenges for over a decade:
Limited access to affordable, high-quality early education
A shortage of affordable housing and essential family resources
The need for greater support and development for educators
With nearly 60% of low-income children under age four lacking access to quality early learning, and childcare costs averaging over $10,000 per year per child, the need for action has never been greater.
WILCOX ACADEMY IN CENTRAL CITY, NEW ORLEANS
Our Solution
Through the WilReachOne Foundation, we’re building a 10,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art early learning center to serve up to 150 children annually, including:
High-quality early care and education
Before- and after-school programs, plus summer programming
Evening care for parents working non-traditional hours
Nutritious meals for all children
Family support services, including transportation assistance and take-home meals
The project also includes four affordable housing units for families and teachers, creating a stable, supportive community for all.

• Educated over 2,000 children from low-income families
• Supported 55+ employees across three Orleans Parish centers
• Served 240 children ages 0-5 each year
• 83% of families are classified as low-income
• 90% of students are children of color
